donald trump received news this week that the Wall he wanted to build around America has been completed. Mexico and Canada, America’s neighbors to the south and north both confirmed mr. trump’s wall was operational and currently preventing border crossings into and out of America. Other countries are expected to follow European nations and officially bar travel to and from America.
donald trump was having a difficult time with allocating funding to build the wall from the outset of his presidency. The United States Congress was unwilling to directly fund the wall and mr. trump had to use "creative measures" to get the job done. No one expected him to use a virus to protect Americans from outsiders, and no one expected that the Wall would be so effective. BUT, as his supporters said from the beginning, donald is brilliant and plays 4-dimensional chess. Obviously, mr. trump is ingenious given that he accomplished what no one thought he could do with conventional means. At last, Americans can understand what it means to be isolated from the rest of the world. The world at large does not want to travel to our shores, and the world does not want Americans to travel to their shores.
donald trump campaigned to Make America Great Again (the key word here is 'Again'). At first, only his supporters knew when that time period was; those who did not understand were left clueless as to the era when America was stronger and better than the present day. donald trump was criticized when he stated some nations are "shithole countries" and sending people to infest America with rapists and murders, and currently, even the people from the shithole countries he cited are not interested in coming to America.
To commemorate the completion of the Wall, donald trump held a rally on July 3, 2020 at Mount Rushmore, he celebrated the American Exceptionalism that answered the call for genocide of the nations living in America before the rejected peoples of Europe arrived. His adherents showed up without masks or protective measures to bolster the spread of the Covid19 virus. donald trump wanted to celebrate America's use of viruses to effectively commit genocide in America; smallpox killed vastly more indigenous people in America than guns, starvation, and war combined. mr. trump is on a tour in America to strengthen American borders, his first stop was in Arizona, and mr. trump successfully set the state afire with the highest infection rate per capita using this strategy of demanding that attendees get infected and enthusiastically spread the disease throughout the state. 50,000 new positive test results per day is the new metric to beat in America, and mr. trump promises that he will deliver.
This is the best experiment possible for Americans to understand what it means to be isolated. For a long time, America has had a strong patriotic movement that can only be described as ethnocentric. This ethnocentric bedrock has been around since the inception of the country. Enslavement of Africans and Others lasted longer in America than anywhere else, and the Ethnocentric America fought a bloody civil war to continue its way of life. In fact, the confederate flag and memorials to the confederacy have lasted generations as a reminder how powerful trump's supporters really are. After slavery was abolished, America was still strongly ethnocentric and would only reluctantly enter conflicts that did not directly affect it. Two world wars started and America was always the last to enter the battle against authoritarianism until the USA was directly attacked multiple times. America preferred Isolationism from the outset of the country's formation, but, since World War II, this powerful idea held dear by a large percentage of Americans was ignored as the subsequent governments favored Interventionism. donald trump invigorated the Ethnocentric America to vote in droves and used foreign assistance to narrowly win the office of president of the USA.
Americans will finally know what it feels like to be isolated again, and trump supporters will finally know what others feel like when the country has an impenetrable wall around it. Americans of all shapes, levels of learnedness, ethnic backgrounds, philosophical and religious traditions, economic means, and genetic diversity finally will understand what it is to be AMERICAN. For a long time, America was considered a melting pot and sociologists and anthropologists found it challenging to point to definite characteristics of the American culture. People from around the world idolized America's heterogeneity, democratic systems, capitalist economy rewarding entrepreneurs, and the variety of products produced with a market-driven economy. Today, America has finally defined itself thanks to donald trump...Americanism is:
worship of oligarchs accumulating more money and assets such that one person's value equates to the value held by millions of its poorer citizens.
having a military only suited for foreign conflicts given its generals are neutered from learning about how to help rebuild infrastructure and use diplomacy to prevent conflict.
supporting police forces that are more violent than others in western countries.
incarcerating more people than even countries with 3x the size in population.
celebrating a healthcare system that is effective for the wealthy and limits benefits for the vast majority of its citizens.
electing old, white politicians that campaign on the destruction of the very government that pays their salaries, benefits, and ensures their way of life.
wasting tax dollars on crony corruption by removing all barriers to controlling abuse of power in government and accountability of the public's money.
a minority of people effectively bullying the majority of people with their unchecked ethnocentric racism.
a country that celebrates"Belief" as more important than Reason when it comes to managing public health crises, education, climate change, and geopolitical conflicts.
How did America get to be this America? *smile*, at least a thousand books have been written on this topic, and many hundreds of new books will be written about how the earlier books are incorrect. It is this author's thesis that American religions inculcated a cognitive dissonance that renounces logical reasoning as the basis for the meaning and answers to life on Earth. Instead of teaching the methods of science, religions in America taught that all the answers to life could be found in a single book that has been poorly translated and effectively rewritten no fewer than twenty times. The reworked book has been changed to ensure the original intent of the bible's messages are completely obscured. There is no better example than the preachers in Covid19 Era; provocateurs with flocks in the tens of thousands of people were able to emphasize the need to hold ceremonies that enrich themselves while endangering the humans that trust a God speaking through these charlatans. I am a Taoest and unfamiliar with the specific passages of the bible, but I am sure that Jesus was quoted as denouncing self-serving charlatans demanding money and promising God's favoritism for these payments.
In future articles, I will emphasize the optimism that will erupt from the Covid19 Era and effectively end this pandemic worldwide; America will soon reach a juncture of two Paths...one that will lead to destitution of billions of people and one that will usher in a complete remaking of the world's economies and nations, metaphorically the biblical story of Noah retold with the facts of Covid19 raining and raining and raining until all that is known has been submerged.
