Mesa Sees Benefits

Mesa is a sleepy community in Greater Phoenix. It is quiet, has a centralized downtown and well-planned strip malls servicing residents. Residential neighborhoods enjoy quick access to a larger roadways while protecting neighborhoods from dangerous car traffic. Mesa is a town for residents, but that is starting to change. Mesa government officials have decided that it is time to market the area's amenities, proximity to major attractions that include Spring Training Baseball teams, national and state parks, golf courses, and tourist destinations. Mesa is defining itself as different than Scottsdale's high-end shopping districts, different than downtown Phoenix's convention and business-centric life, and Tempe's student culture. Mesa is Mesa, and visitors are deciding more and more to stay in Mesa when coming to Greater Phoenix.

Local hotels and resorts are teaming up to offer new outdoor fitness options and encourage visitors to come for the outdoor exercise opportunities. Some residents are reporting that friends and family are increasingly interested in visiting to escape tough winters found elsewhere in the country.
